Ink Volume Disclosed on Label of InkJet Cartridge?

The National Conference on Weights and Measures will discuss the issue of having the amount of ink in a cartridge disclosed on the label of the ink jet cartridge.  The conference takes place this month in Nashville, Tennessee.

As you can image, many printer companies are not in favor of such a regulation since most of their profits are received from ink cartridge sales rather than printer sales.

With consumers feeling the money crunch and just basically tired of paying so much for ink, it is possible that this will be eventually required from printer companies.

Currently the printer companies are claiming they do not need to disclose the amount of ink in the cartridge because of the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act.

It is always better to offer more (rather than less) information to the consumer.

Who cares how much is in the printhead? All anyone should care about is how many standard type of prints they will get out of it. Regardless of the printhead type, every manufacturer is going to have different fill levels depending on the printhead and they all use ink in different ways. Putting how many standard prints per cartridge is a good idea!

I think the decision will go in favour of customer. But the companies are also right at their point.
